Sounding the Alarm on Gwinnett County Foreclosures (2022)

The public organ for Gwinnett County, GA reported at least nine notices of planned sales by lienholders of residential property on the courthouse steps on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 under power granted to them in the security deeds.  Apparently five of those owners managed to work out an arrangement of some sort while two sold before their scheduled auction to some advertisers found on TV who are now trying to flip them for profits.  The auction did, in fact, go through on the remaining two properties with the winning bids going to a single investor, potentially almost $300,000 of our neighbor’s equity that could have been converted into cash at closing gone just like that.
